Project: Shaping Rainbows

Bright clay shapes forming rainbow colours — Shaping Rainbows project hero

A short and playful project: Shape bright, tactile rainbows using small rolls, coils and pinched beads of Jugnu clay. This activity is quick to set up and perfect for exploring colours, fine motor control, and pattern play.

Quick steps

  • Choose 3–5 colours of clay for your rainbow.
  • Roll thin sausages for each colour and arrange them in an arc.
  • Add texture: press a comb, leaf, or fingertip patterns into each band.
  • Turn the scene into a story — who lives near your rainbow?

Materials are non-toxic; supervise younger children and keep small beads away from toddlers.

Try this in 10–20 minutes, perfect for quick creative sessions.
