Want to make marbled or galaxy colors? Don't mix your clay completely! Just take two different colored ropes of clay, twist them together gently, and then roll them into a ball. You'll get beautiful, unpredictable swirls every time.
Your kitchen has the best texture tools! Gently press a fork into your clay to make fur or grass. Poke it with a toothpick for tiny dots. You can even dab an old, clean toothbrush on the surface to create a cool, bumpy texture!
Making a big, round creature? Don't waste your clay! Start by crumpling up a tight ball of aluminum foil. Then, wrap a layer of your clay around the foil core. This keeps your creation light, saves clay, and helps it dry more evenly.
To make your characters look truly alive, add a tiny dot of white clay to the corner of each black eyeball. This little speck of "light" instantly gives your creations more personality and makes them look like they're looking right back at you!
